KERENS, Texas — The 2025 football season begins Thursday for the Bobcats as head coach Cliff Watkins enters his second year leading the program.
Kerens wrapped up fall camp last week with its second scrimmage, against Rio Vista. The Bobcats went 7-6 in 2024 and advanced to the Class 2A Division I regional semifinals.
Senior quarterback Isaiah Jordan will make his debut as the starter, with running back D’Mari Payne expected to provide plenty of support. Kerens will open at home against perennial playoff contender Bremond, which went 12-3 last season and reached the Class 2A Division II state semifinals. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
In volleyball, head coach Hanna Hartman’s squad faced Frost on Tuesday before competing in the Kerens Tournament, which runs Thursday through Saturday. The Bobcats will also travel to Itasca on Friday.
