The Eagle Mountain Knights hit the road Friday to face Bridgeport in a District 3-4A matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Eagle Mountain enters the game 5-2 overall and 1-1 in district play, while Bridgeport sits at 1-6 and 0-2.
The Knights earned a hard-fought 38-23 win over Burkburnett last Friday, powered by a dominant rushing attack that totaled 408 yards. Senior quarterback Brycen Vindiola rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown, while senior running back Terry Starks ran for 183 yards and two scores. Starks surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the season and now has 1,143 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Bridgeport is coming off a 56-0 loss at Graham.
On the volleyball court, the No. 5-ranked Lady Knights were on the verge of securing the District 7-4A title Tuesday. All Eagle Mountain needed was a home win over Lake Worth to clinch the championship, which would make Friday’s regular-season finale at Decatur meaningless.
The Lady Knights entered the week 29-11 overall and 12-0 in district play.
In cross country, the Eagle Mountain girls competed Tuesday in the Class 4A Region I meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
