MINERAL WELLS, Texas — Mineral Wells opened the 2025 football season with authority Friday, rolling past Fort Worth Polytechnic 54-0 at Ram Stadium.
The Rams built a 46-0 halftime lead and cruised from there, with big plays across the offense under head coach Cody Worrell. The win marked a step forward from last year’s 49-14 victory over Poly, showing even more dominance on both sides of the ball.
Mineral Wells will now hit the road for the next two weeks, beginning Friday with a trip near the Red River to face Iowa Park. The Hawks edged Pampa 28-27 in their opener. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
In volleyball, the Lady Rams wrapped up their third tournament of the season over the weekend in Arlington. They entered the final day of play Saturday with a 10-7 record and will travel Tuesday to face Class 6A Weatherford.
Mineral Wells cross country will host its own meet Friday.
