FORT WORTH, Texas — All Saints completed a sweep of the eastern side of the Metroplex on Friday, defeating Plano Prestonwood Academy 28-21 in a weather-shortened game.
The Saints improved to 2-0 and extended their winning streak to 16 straight games after the contest was called in the third quarter due to a heavy storm system that moved through the area.
Quarterback Gavin Beard threw for nearly 200 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing score. Receiver Hattan French finished with 100 receiving yards, and Jayton Briles returned a kickoff for a touchdown to help pace the offense.
All Saints will return home this week for a different type of non-district test. The Saints host Prosper Richland, the newest school in Prosper ISD, which is playing its first varsity schedule. The Raiders enter 0-2 after losses to Gunter and Fort Worth Christian. Kickoff is set for Friday.
In volleyball, the Lady Saints will resume play Friday when they host Blum following a lengthy layoff.
