CLEBURNE, Texas — The Yellow Jackets return home Friday looking to bounce back when they face Waco at the Rock Pile. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Cleburne is 1-1 after a 57-14 loss last week at Burleson. The Elks built a 25-6 halftime lead and never looked back. Quarterback Luke Stewart threw for one of the Jackets’ two touchdowns.
Waco enters 0-2 with losses to Granbury and Corsicana.
In volleyball, the Lady Jackets began District 8-5A play Tuesday at home against Burleson Centennial. They will also host Joshua on Friday after finishing non-district at 8-13.
Cleburne’s cross country teams will compete Saturday in the Lovejoy Meet at Myers Park in McKinney. Last week at the Hewitt Midway Invitational, the girls captured the team title by placing three runners in the top six. Junior Jessilyn Wurster led the way with a runner-up finish.
