WEATHERFORD, Texas — Weatherford moved the ball at will Friday but a pair of early turnovers led to a 38-27 loss at Arlington High in a non-district matchup at UTA’s Maverick Stadium. The Kangaroos fell to 1-2.
The Roos gained nearly 450 yards, including a 97-yard scoring drive. Running back DJ Quimby rushed for 232 yards, totaling more than 550 yards over the last two games.
Weatherford closes its non-district schedule Friday at Kangaroo Stadium against Royse City. The Bulldogs are 3-0 and have scored at least 47 points in each game. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Lady Roos volleyball is off to a strong start in District 3-6A, sweeping Mansfield Legacy and Saginaw Boswell last week. They are 17-10 overall and travel Tuesday to face the state’s No. 2 Class 6A team in Mansfield.
At the Mansfield Legacy Cross Country Invitational last Friday, Weatherford’s girls won the team title, with Remington Boone claiming the individual championship.
