A long night at the Rock Pile for head coach AJ Sheppard and his Jackets on Friday. They suffered a tough 52-14 loss to state-ranked Port Arthur Memorial. Cleburne is 2-2. This one was never in doubt from the beginning.
One of the bright spots was quarterback Luke Stewart, who threw for 175 yards and a touchdown. Running back CJ Kensley added 120 rushing yards and a score.
Now the District 7-5A season begins this Friday. The Jackets travel to Burleson to take on Centennial. It’s a 7 o’clock kickoff at B-I-S-D Stadium. The Spartans are 1-3 and have surrendered at least 41 points in each of their three losses.
Lady Jackets volleyball is 9-17 overall and 1-3 in District 8-5A after a win Friday against Mansfield Timberview. This week, they’re home to Everman on Tuesday and Mansfield Summit on Friday.
Cross country teams competed in Round Rock on Saturday.
