Weatherford fell to Royse City 60-17 in the final non-district game Friday. The Roos dropped to 1-3 after falling behind 23-0 in the first quarter. Junior quarterback Kutter Kennedy threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns. Bryant Davis and Robert Mask each had 100-yard receiving games.
District 3-6A play begins Friday at Crowley. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Crowley ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium. Crowley is 1-3, coming off a 38-35 loss to Tyler Legacy.
Lady Roos volleyball is 17-11 and 2-1 in district play. They begin a Crowley swing this week, traveling to North Crowley Tuesday and Crowley Friday. Last week, Weatherford lost to No. 2 Mansfield in four sets.
