Springtown has cracked the Texas 4A Division I rankings at No. 9. The Pines are 4-0 entering Thursday night’s District 5-4A opener against Southwest of Fort Worth at Clark Field. Southwest entered at 1-3.
Springtown stayed perfect last Friday in Central Texas with a 36-7 win at China Spring. Junior quarterback Kaine Hill threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Karson Ferguson caught for 131 yards. The defense forced three turnovers, including two interceptions by Riley Jackson.
Lady Pines volleyball has already surpassed 30 wins. The team hosts Bridgeport tonight. Springtown is 31-8 overall and 3-2 in District 7-4A after wins over Burkburnett and Castleberry. Junior Libby Tedder leads the team with 460 kills, one of the top totals in North Texas.
