Granbury Pirates Sports Update – 10/07/25

GRANBURY — The Granbury Pirates are coming off their bye week, giving head coach Bobby Allison’s team time to reset and evaluate progress at the midpoint of the season. The Pirates are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in District 3-5A play and remain in contention for a playoff spot.

Granbury faces a difficult stretch in district competition. Two weeks ago, the Pirates fell to No. 4 Denton Ryan 41-0. This week, they travel to face top-ranked Aledo on Friday at Tim Buchanan Stadium. The Bearcats are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in district play. KHITS 95.5 FM will broadcast the matchup beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with Clayton Neville and John Hampton on the call.

The Lady Pirates volleyball team is entering the second half of the District 5-5A season. Granbury is 18-20 overall and 4-3 in district play, sitting in fourth place. They travel to Saginaw Chisholm Trail on Tuesday before facing district leader Aledo on Friday.

Granbury’s cross country teams will compete Friday at the District 5-5A meet at Brewer. Senior Gannon Dolan will look to capture the individual boys title.
