Aledo – Top-ranked Aledo is on a bye week following a 61-0 victory over Granbury last Friday. The Bearcats are 7-0 overall and 5-0 in District 3-5A Division I. Their national record district winning streak now stands at 132 games.
Aledo totaled nearly 500 yards of offense and broke 60 points for the first time this season. The Bearcats defense earned its second shutout of the year and is allowing only eight points per game.
Aledo returns to action Oct. 24 at Richland.
The No. 2 Ladycats volleyball team, 35-2 overall and 9-0 in District 5-5A, also had a bye on Tuesday. They play Friday at Saginaw. A win would clinch at least a share of the district title and extend their district winning streak to 33 matches.
At the District 5-5A cross country meet in White Settlement last week, both Aledo teams won the team titles. Molly Garrison was the girls individual champion, and Tyler Connelly won the boys race. Both advance to the Region I meet.
