Boyd Defeats Bowie 35-21 in Homecoming Win
BOYD, Texas — Boyd celebrated homecoming in style Friday night, defeating Bowie 35-21 to notch its fourth win of the season. The victory improved the Yellowjackets to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in district play.
“It’s definitely a kickstart,” Boyd head coach Shawn Sparks said. “We had probably our worst game of the year last week, so just getting refocused and headed back in the right direction helps us. We’re really learning how to win.”
Quarterback Cash led the way offensively, while the defense held a strong Jackrabbits squad in check. “They’ve been scoring a lot of points,” Sparks said. “We just tried to stay physical and wear them down. By the fourth quarter, good things started happening.”
Bowie fell to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in district.
