
Krum showed its championship mettle Friday night with a dominant second half at rival Sanger. Down 35-24 at halftime, the Bobcats responded with a 25-0 surge to earn a 49-35 victory. Krum improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in District 5-4A, taking control of the league race.
Junior quarterback Elijah Guerrero threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns, both to sophomore AJ Criss, who finished just shy of 100 yards receiving. Senior running back Will Holland added 154 rushing yards and is up to 948 on the season.
The Bobcats can clinch a playoff berth Friday at home against Gainesville. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The Leopards are 1-7 and 1-3 in 5-4A after a 41-13 loss to Van Alstyne.
Krum volleyball looks to secure a playoff berth this week in District 7-4A play, hosting Decatur on Tuesday and traveling to Burkburnett on Friday.
Luis Zepeda and Kassidy Forsythe represent Krum cross country at the Region I meet Tuesday at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
