The All Saints Saints moved their matchup with Midland Christian from Friday to Thursday night at McNair Stadium to avoid the heavy weather expected Friday. The contest served as a key showdown for the TAPPS District 1 lead.
All Saints entered the matchup 7-0 overall and 2-0 in district play, riding a 21-game winning streak. Midland Christian came in 5-2 and 2-0. A victory would officially clinch a playoff spot for the Saints.
Last week in Lubbock, All Saints battled through the fourth quarter to defeat Trinity Christian-Lubbock 38-30. The Saints’ offense managed just over 200 yards, but the defense stepped up with three takeaways, including a 48-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Hudson Harbuck. The defense also added a safety in a complete performance of complementary football.
In volleyball, the Lady Saints wrapped up their TAPPS regular season Thursday against Coram Deo Academy after sweeping Grace Prep on Tuesday. All Saints entered the match 23-5 overall and 12-1 in TAPPS play, tied with Southwest Christian for the district lead.
