It wasn’t the season head coach Aaron Cupp and his Bridgeport Bulls football program had hoped for. The Bulls’ challenging campaign came to an end Friday night at home on senior night with a 69-0 loss to District 3-4A champion and No. 3-ranked Brock.
The defeat closed Bridgeport’s season at 1-9 overall and 0-5 in district play. Offensive struggles defined much of the year, as the Bulls were shut out in three of their five district contests. With the 2025 season now complete, Bridgeport turns its attention to the offseason and begins preparing for 2026. UIL district realignment in February could bring significant changes for the program.
On the court, the Sissies basketball team tipped off its 2025-26 season on Saturday after opening day Friday. Head coach Darryn Shearmire’s squad hosted Paradise to begin play and will hit the road Friday to face Bowie. The Sissies enter the season ranked No. 18 in the Class 4A Division II preseason poll after posting a 30-7 record and advancing to the area round of the playoffs last year.
