The stakes couldn’t be higher in the latest chapter of the “Battle of Texas 114.” On Tuesday night, Paradise and Boyd will collide once again in a Class 3A volleyball showdown with a trip to the UIL State Tournament on the line.

The matchup, set for Nov. 11, 2025, carries all the weight of a rivalry years in the making. The winner advances to state, while the loser’s season comes to an end, a fittingly dramatic stage for two programs separated by just 11 miles and a fierce competitive history.

Boyd enters the contest on a 17-match winning streak and boasts an impressive 33-9 record this season. The Lady Jackets have dominated the rivalry in recent years, holding a perfect 10-0 mark against Paradise since 2021. Their run of success has been fueled by consistent defensive play and senior leadership that has carried them through a tough playoff stretch.

Paradise, however, is riding its own wave of momentum. The Lady Panthers have won six straight matches to reach the regional finals, improving to 31-13 overall. Behind their dynamic attack and energized home crowd support, they’ll look to finally break through against their district and regional nemesis.

For both sides, the emotion surrounding the “Battle of 114” goes beyond the score. It’s a clash of small-town pride, built on years of shared history, school spirit, and postseason heartbreak.

Boyd aims to continue its recent dominance and return to the state stage, while Paradise seeks to flip the script and make history. First serve is scheduled for Tuesday night, with one team bound for glory, and the other heading home with a season’s worth of memories and motivation.
