Game Report: Decatur vs. Springtown (Nov. 10, 2025, Justin, TX)

JUSTIN, Texas — In a battle between bitter district rivals, the No. 1 Decatur Lady Eagles punched their ticket back to the UIL Class 4A state semifinals after a 3–1 victory over Springtown in Monday night’s Region I championship at Northwest High School.

Decatur (40–7) extended its postseason dominance with set scores of 25–20, 25–19, 23–25, and 25–14, overpowering a resilient Springtown squad that had entered the regional final at 43–10.

Decatur wasted no time setting the tone and controlled the pace with precision sets that kept the Porcupines’ defense off balance.

The Lady Eagles pulled away late in the second set behind a dominant service run, taking a two-set lead before Springtown answered back. The Porcupines fought off elimination in the third with strong net play, edging Decatur’s chance at a sweep 25–23.

But in the fourth, Decatur’s experience and energy took over. Lady Eagles Offense sparked a 10–2 run midway through the set, while the defense in the back row held Springtown to under 15 points.

The win sends Decatur to its third state semifinal appearance in the last four seasons. The Lady Eagles will face the winner of the Region II final between Celina and Lindale at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center in Fort Worth.

Springtown closes the season as Region I runner-up, finishing 43–10 overall and second in District 7-4A play.
