The Cleburne Lady Jackets wrapped up play at the Mavs Classic in Frisco over the weekend, finishing 2-2 with wins over Frisco Memorial and first-year varsity program Frisco Richland. Cleburne also turned in a strong performance last week at Aledo, narrowly falling 38-36.
The Lady Jackets now sit at 3-3 on the season and return home tonight to face Brock before heading to the Allen Tournament from Thursday through Saturday.
On the boys side, the Cleburne Jackets opened their season Friday with an impressive 58-30 win over Paschal. A dominant 22-6 second quarter helped Cleburne seize control and cruise to the finish.
The program now prepares for a busy stretch as the historic Jacket Bowl tournament returns Thursday through Saturday. Originally a staple from 1966–91, the event was revived last year by community leaders. This year’s tournament features 16 teams split into two eight-team brackets, promising three days of competitive early-season basketball.
