The game lived up to the billing. And for All Saints, the program has survived and advanced to a second straight state championship appearance. On Friday in McGregor, All Saints won a shootout against Austin Regents in the TAPPS 5A Division II semifinals, 49-35. The Saints are now 13-0, and their winning streak is up to 27 games.
Quarterback Gavin Beard delivered another brilliant performance, throwing for 244 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those went to Hudson Reasor, while the others went to Gabe Starling and Hattan French. Reasor now leads the team with 15 touchdown receptions. French has nine, and both receivers have surpassed 800 yards on the season.
Next up is the state championship game on Friday, another rematch, this time against Houston Second Baptist. The Eagles are 7-6 and reached the title game with a 41-38 win over Lutheran South Academy.
All Saints won the 2024 meeting between the teams, 21-3. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Waco ISD Stadium.
