All Saints is one win away from cementing its place among TAPPS’ modern dynasties. The Saints will play for back-to-back TAPPS 5A Division II state championships on Friday night when they face Houston Second Baptist at Waco ISD Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Undefeated All Saints enters at 13-0 and riding a 27-game winning streak dating to the start of the 2024 season. A victory would not only secure a second straight state title but also mark a second consecutive perfect season. This matchup is a rematch of last year’s championship game, when the Saints defeated Second Baptist 21-3.

All Saints earned its return trip to the finals with a hard-fought 49-35 win over Austin Regents in last Friday’s state semifinal in McGregor. Quarterback Gavin Beard delivered another standout performance, throwing for 244 yards and four touchdowns. Hudson Reasor hauled in two of those scoring passes, while Hattan French and Gabe Starling each added one.

Second Baptist arrives at 7-6 after edging Lutheran South Academy 41-38 in its semifinal matchup. The Eagles will look to avenge last year’s loss, but All Saints enters as the clear favorite.

History is on the line Friday night as the Saints aim to finish the job once again.
