Corsicana boys basketball entered the Athens tournament this week looking to build on a much-needed boost of momentum. The Tigers earned their second win of the season Tuesday, topping Dallas Gateway Charter Academy, 67–60. Both teams shot above 50 percent from the field, but Corsicana’s consistency and season-high scoring output proved to be the difference. The Tigers improved to 2–4 heading into tournament play, which runs Thursday through Saturday.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Tigers picked up their second straight victory earlier in the week. Corsicana earned a road win at West Mesquite on Tuesday, pushing its record to 3–6. While the early schedule has presented challenges, back-to-back wins, both on the road, have the Lady Tigers trending in the right direction. They return to action at home Tuesday against Waxahachie Life before opening December district play later in the week.
Looking ahead, December also marks the start of preparations for the 2026 boys and girls soccer seasons. Both programs officially begin competition in January.
