ALEDO – This past Wednesday, Aledo celebrated its seven football players who went through National Signing Day. They will continue their careers after graduation.

DE Carson Dempsey – University of Tulsa

WR Kaydon Finley – Notre Dame

S Kamron Hall – Lamar University in Beaumont

LB Chase Wilburn – Towson University (MD)

OL Payton Williams – University of Texas-San Antonio

RB Kaden Winkfield – Sam Houston State University in Huntsville

S Lamel Swanson – The United States Military Academy (West Point)
Speaking with NTX Varsity Sports, Aledo head coach Robby Jones said, “These guys have been around, some of them playing on varsity for four years. It’s good to see that all their hard work has paid off as far as getting to go play at the next level. And at some really big-time schools as well.”
Jones added, “We got seven that signed [Wednesday]. We’ll have at least three more, maybe more, [who will] sign in February. So, it’s an extremely talented class.”
Beyond the anticipation of more college signings, No. 1 Aledo (13-0) plays Friday night in the Class 5A D1 Region 1 UIL state quarterfinals against District 3-5A rival in No. 4 Denton Ryan (12-1). The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Northwest ISD Stadium. The Bearcats are aiming to make it to their 3rd state championship in the last 4-years.
