The Steers officially closed the book on another successful football season, finishing 9–4 in head coach Clay McChristian’s second year at the helm. Graham once again proved to be one of Region I’s most consistent contenders, advancing to the Class 4A Division II regional semifinals before falling to No. 4 Midland Greenwood, 36–21.
The Steers’ postseason included a pair of impressive victories, a bi-district win over Godley and a signature upset of highly ranked Lubbock Liberty, marking the third time in six years the program has played at least three playoff games. Graham also extended one of the state’s longest active streaks, qualifying for the postseason for the 17th consecutive season, a run dating back to 2009.
The biggest storyline moving into 2026 will be replacing dynamic senior quarterback Jace Gill, who powered the offense with more than 3,200 total yards and 27 touchdowns. Gill nearly reached 2,300 passing yards while adding more than 900 on the ground, becoming one of the area’s most productive dual-threat players.
Even with Gill’s graduation, McChristian and his staff remain optimistic. Graham returns a strong core of offensive contributors along with several experienced defensive starters, giving the Steers a promising foundation as they shift into offseason development.
With another deep run on the résumé and plenty of talent set to return, Graham enters 2026 aiming to extend its playoff streak, and push even further in Region I.
