District play is underway for the Decatur girls and boys basketball teams, with the Lady Eagles leading the way as one of the top programs in Class 4A.
Decatur enters the week ranked No. 12 in the latest Class 4A coaches poll and holds a 12-4 record. The Lady Eagles opened District 7-4A play Tuesday at home against Lake Worth and will travel to Bridgeport on Friday. Decatur is averaging 58 points per game against a challenging non-district schedule. Sophomore guard Style Brazile has been a key contributor, averaging more than 14 points and four assists per contest.
On the boys side, Decatur is navigating a rebuilding season and sits at 5-5. The Eagles are coming off a productive weekend at the Childress tournament, where they earned narrow victories over Munday, 36-34, and Idalou, 38-36. Decatur has won four of its last five games.
The Eagles are off during the first half of the week before hosting Prosper Richland on Friday and traveling to Holliday next Tuesday.
