The Corsicana Lady Tigers and Tigers basketball teams close out the December segment of District 15-5A play this week before the Christmas break.
The Lady Tigers travel Friday to face No. 24 Midlothian Heritage at 3 p.m. Corsicana enters at 4-8 overall and 1-1 in district play, coming off a hard-fought 48-45 victory at Terrell on Tuesday. Midlothian Heritage, the Lady Jaguars, are 15-4 overall and 2-0 in league action.
The Corsicana boys follow the Lady Tigers Friday at Midlothian Heritage in their district opener. The Tigers are 3-8 on the season and 0-0 in district play. They were off for the first half of the week and are coming off a challenging stretch, suffering road losses to Roosevelt (Dallas) and Forney, while defeating Nacogdoches prior to that. Heritage enters at 4-7.
Both teams will be off next week for the Christmas break and return to holiday tournament action on Dec. 29.
