Bridgeport athletics now knows its football classification for the next two-year alignment cycle beginning in 2026. The UIL announced its classification cutoff numbers last week, confirming that Bridgeport will remain a Class 4A Division II school.
Bridgeport reported an enrollment snapshot of 634 students, placing it toward the lower end of the Class 4A Division II range, which spans from 550 to 895 students. The classification applies to football, while other varsity sports will compete in separate districts.
Currently, Bridgeport football competes in District 3-4A alongside Brock, Graham, Eagle Mountain, Mineral Wells and Burkburnett. Bridgeport’s other athletic programs participate in District 7-4A with schools such as Decatur, Springtown, Eagle Mountain and Krum.
The UIL is scheduled to announce new district alignments for all Bridgeport athletic programs on Feb. 2, giving schools time to prepare for any changes ahead of the 2026 season.
