Cleburne administrators received confirmation last week on the program’s UIL classification as the governing body released its latest cutoff numbers. As expected, Cleburne will remain a Class 5A Division I school.
The high school reported an average daily enrollment of 1,957 students, placing it toward the lower end of the Class 5A Division I range, which spans from 1,830 to 2,214 students. The classification applies to football only, while other varsity sports compete in separate districts.
Cleburne football is wrapping up a two-year alignment in District 7-5A alongside Tyler John Tyler, Highland Park, Joshua, Red Oak, Midlothian and Burleson Centennial. The school’s other athletic programs currently compete in District 8-5A with schools such as Mansfield, Burleson, Joshua and Centennial.
The UIL is scheduled to announce new district alignments for all Cleburne athletic programs on Feb. 2, giving the school ample time to prepare for the next alignment cycle.
