Bridgeport basketball is busy through the holiday stretch, with both the Bulls and Sissies in tournament action before District 7-4A play resumes.
The Bulls are playing host to their own tournament, which begins today and runs through Tuesday. Bridgeport is scheduled to play two games Monday, facing Petrolia and Paschal. The Bulls enter the tournament with an 8-8 record on the season.
Before the Christmas break, Bridgeport endured a challenging week. The Bulls fell to Stephenville, 75-48, and followed with a 62-51 loss to Iowa Park.
On the girls side, the Sissies are competing in the Weatherford Tournament, which begins Monday and continues through Wednesday. Bridgeport is slated to play Everman and Saginaw on Monday.
The Sissies enter tournament play with an 11-8 overall record and a 1-1 mark in District 7-4A. During the December portion of district play prior to the holiday break, Bridgeport split its two games. The Sissies cruised past Castleberry of River Oaks, 97-14, before dropping a 69-41 decision to Decatur.
Offensively, Bridgeport has shown balance this season, with four players averaging double figures. Junior Presley Radke leads the team at 12.1 points per game.
Both Bridgeport teams will return to District 7-4A action on Saturday with road games at Eagle Mountain.
