Eagle Mountain High School basketball moves into the thick of the District 7-4A season this week.

The Knights began district play Tuesday with a road game at Castleberry and will host No. 3-ranked Decatur on Friday. Eagle Mountain enters the week at 9-10 overall after opening district with a 45-39 win over Bridgeport last Saturday. Defensively, the Knights have been solid, allowing just 45 points per game.

Lady Knights basketball mirrors the boys’ schedule with matchups at Castleberry and at home against Decatur. Eagle Mountain started the week at 11-11 overall and 1-2 in league play. Last Saturday, they fell to Bridgeport, 54-47. Facing the Lady Eagles on Friday will be a significant test, as Decatur is ranked third in Class 4A.

The boys’ team is 1-1 through the first week, including a Tuesday home contest against Kennedale. Both teams share a doubleheader against Pilot Point Friday.
