Both the Rams and Lady Rams basketball teams had mixed results last week as they wrapped up non-district games and entered District 6-4A competition.
The Lady Rams finished their non-district schedule with a 42-28 victory over Grandview last Tuesday, improving to 14-11 on the season. Their district opener, however, proved challenging, falling 47-27 at No. 9 Brownwood on Friday. Mineral Wells faces a tough stretch ahead, traveling to No. 5 Brock on Tuesday before returning home to host Glen Rose on Friday.
The Rams also split their two home games last week. They beat Abilene Cooper 52-46 on Tuesday but suffered an identical 52-46 loss to Jacksboro on Friday. Mineral Wells is off for the first half of this week before beginning district play Friday against Glen Rose at home. The boys team is 12-11 on the season.
Soccer is in full swing for the Lady Rams and Rams. The Lady Rams competed at the Brewer tournament this past weekend and will host Wichita Falls Legacy on Monday. Meanwhile, the boys squad is 2-1 and hosts Benbrook Tuesday.
