It’s a clash of District 5-5A leaders Tuesday night as Granbury travels to face Aledo in a matchup of undefeated district teams. Both the Lady Pirates and the Lady Cats are 4-0 in league play, with Granbury at 15-11 overall and No. 24-ranked Aledo at 16-7. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Granbury’s girls have won five straight, including a 49-34 victory at Azle last Tuesday and a 39-23 rout of Brewer Friday. The boys, meanwhile, continue to struggle, dropping back-to-back district games last week: 50-44 at Azle and 48-34 to Brewer. Both teams play host to Saginaw Chisholm Trail Friday.
Soccer is also in full swing. The Lady Pirates are 6-2-1 after going 3-1 in the Waco Tournament this past weekend and host Burleson Tuesday. The boys are 3-2-1 following the same tournament and share the Tuesday doubleheader with the girls. Both teams begin their next round of tournament play Thursday.
