Jackets basketball had a solid week as they continue their District 10-3A campaign. Last Friday, Boyd’s boys defeated Whitesboro, 53-38, in league play. Earlier in the week, they posted a 77-54 non-district victory over Santo. The Jackets are now 14-11 overall and 1-1 in district action. This week, Boyd hosts Valley View Tuesday before traveling to face No. 2 and district leader Paradise on Friday.
The Lady Jackets are 10-14 overall and 2-2 in District 10-3A. They suffered a 45-28 loss to Whitesboro on Friday, but a crucial week lies ahead for their playoff hopes. Boyd hosts Valley View Tuesday, a fellow middle-of-the-pack team in the district race, before traveling to Paradise Friday.
Looking ahead, the powerlifting season for both Boyd boys and girls teams begins Jan. 22.
