NTX Teams Advance to Coed Finals at UIL Spirit State Championship

FORT WORTH — Two North Texas cheer programs are set to compete on the state’s biggest stage after advancing to the coed finals at the UIL Spirit State Championship on Wednesday at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Azle High School and Burleson High School earned spots in the coed division finals following strong preliminary performances earlier in the day. Both schools represent North Texas among a competitive field from across the state.

Azle is scheduled to warm up at 3:51 p.m. and will take the mat for its finals performance at 4:29 p.m. Burleson follows with a 4:40 p.m. warm-up and a 5:18 p.m. finals performance.

The coed finals will be held inside the arena, not the exhibit hall, as teams compete for a UIL state title in front of a packed crowd. NTX Varsity Sports is on site providing event coverage, including divisional photo galleries and end-of-day recaps highlighting North Texas performances.

Fans looking to support NTX talent can catch Azle and Burleson during their scheduled finals times as the championship round gets underway Wednesday afternoon.

The coed division state champion is expected to be announced at approximately 5:45 p.m., officially closing out the finals round and determining which program will leave Fort Worth with a UIL state championship title.
