Tuesday’s matchup saw Mildred at Italy, followed by the first of two district meetings with Kerens Friday. Last week, Eagle secured victories over Wortham, 69-54, and Hubbard, 69-26.
Lady Eagles basketball holds sole possession of second place in the district, one game behind No. 18 Frost. Mildred is 12-10 overall and 4-1 in league play. The Lady Eagles face the same schedule as the boys this week, traveling to Italy on Tuesday and hosting Kerens Friday. Last week, the Lady Eagles posted two blowout wins: 50-20 over Wortham and 67-16 against Hubbard. These district matchups will be critical as teams jockey for playoff positioning.
