No. 19 Aledo Lady Cats basketball cruised past Granbury, 52-15, Tuesday in a District 5-5A matchup, taking sole possession of first place in the league at 5-0. The Lady Cats are now 17-7 overall and will close out the first half of district play Friday at Azle.
The Aledo boys, led by coach Drew Baker, maintained their pace atop the district standings with a 70-39 victory over Granbury. The Bearcats are now 18-6 overall and 4-0 in district play, scoring at least 61 points in each of their league wins. The team faces Azle on Friday.
In soccer, Lady Cats are 2-3 for the season after beginning play in the Georgetown tournament. They fell 1-0 to Burleson Centennial on Tuesday. The boys team is 2-3-1 after a 2-1 loss to Burleson Centennial in the Crowley tournament.
