Tiger basketball opens the District 6-4A season Friday with a road game at Mineral Wells, aiming to end a three-game losing streak. Glen Rose comes into the matchup at 16-8 following a 57-51 overtime loss Tuesday at Wichita Falls Memorial. The district opener carries added significance as the program pushes toward a playoff berth.

Lady Tiger basketball also travels to Mineral Wells Friday, joining the boys in action against the Lady Rams. Glen Rose is 16-12 overall and 1-1 in district play, having lost Tuesday at home to No. 9 Brownwood, 35-27, but secured a district opener victory last Friday at Graham, 35-26. Both teams return to the road Tuesday for district matchups against Brock in Parker County.

In football honors, Glen Rose senior center Chase Alexander was named the District 4-4A Offensive Lineman of the Year for the 2025 season.
