Weatherford basketball is entering the second half of District 3-6A play with both boys and girls teams facing uphill battles. The Roos boys completed the first half of district action at 16-10 overall but 0-4 in league play. Last week, they fell to No. 8 Mansfield Timberview, 92-56, and Mansfield Lake Ridge, 76-62. Weatherford closes the first half of district play Tuesday at Saginaw Boswell before returning home Friday to face Mansfield.
The Lady Roos are 18-9 overall but 0-6 in District 3-6A. They finished the first half last week with losses to North Crowley, 73-29, and Mansfield Lake Ridge, 66-53. The girls follow the same schedule as the boys, traveling to Boswell Tuesday and hosting Mansfield Friday.
In soccer, Lady Roos remain unbeaten at 5-0-1 after a 2-1 victory at Arlington Heights Thursday. They travel to Brewer Tuesday before starting District 3-6A play Friday at Crowley. The Roos boys soccer team is 2-3-2 and will also begin district play Friday at Crowley.
