No. 1 Decatur girls basketball opened the second half of District 7-4A play Tuesday at Lake Worth, a team it defeated by 88 points in the first meeting. The Lady Eagles began the week at 24-4 overall, a perfect 7-0 in district play and riding a 12-game winning streak. Decatur returns home Friday to face Bridgeport as it continues its push toward another district title.
On the boys side, Decatur is navigating a transition season but remains in the playoff conversation. The Eagles opened the week at 8-13 overall and 2-3 in district play, sharing the same schedule as the girls with games against Lake Worth and Bridgeport. Consistency will be key over the second half of district play.
In soccer, the Decatur girls are coming off their first win of the season, a 7-3 victory over Castleberry last Friday. The Lady Eagles, now 1-5, played at Azle on Tuesday and host Lake Dallas on Friday. The boys soccer team, unbeaten at 6-0-2, played Lake Dallas on Tuesday and hosts Wichita Falls Memorial on Friday.
