Despite ice, sleet, and snow closing the district Monday and Tuesday, the Paradise boys and girls basketball teams were unaffected, enjoying scheduled District 10-3A byes. Both programs return to action Friday when they host Callisburg.
The Panthers remain No. 2 in the Class 4A state poll. Paradise is 25-2 overall and 6-0 in district play, winning its last eight games. Last week, the Panthers posted another pair of blowout wins: 78-29 over Whitesboro and 70-29 at Valley View. The Valley View game was moved from Friday to Thursday due to winter weather.
The Lady Panthers also moved up in the rankings, from No. 7 to No. 6 in Class 4A. Paradise is 25-4 overall and 8-0 in district play. Last week, the Lady Panthers beat Whitesboro 64-25 and then won at Valley View on Thursday, 69-44. Both teams lead District 10-3A.
