This Glen Rose Tigers Sports Minute is brought to you by Glen Rose Medical Center
Winter weather forced Glen Rose athletics to adjust its basketball schedule this week. Instead of both the boys and girls teams playing host to Graham on Tuesday, those games were moved to Thursday, conditions permitting. School district closures were cited as the reason for the change.
Tiger basketball entered the Class 4A state poll this week at No. 23. Glen Rose is 19-8 overall and undefeated in District 6-4A at 3-0. The Tigers defeated Stephenville last Thursday, 76-60, in a game that was moved up from Friday to avoid the weather. Glen Rose has now erased a three-game losing streak that occurred prior to district play.
The Tigers are on the verge of another milestone. Their next win will secure a 20-win season for the sixth consecutive year, with the first opportunity coming Friday on the road at Brownwood.
Lady Tiger basketball entered the week at 18-13 overall and 3-2 in District 6-4A prior to Thursday’s matchup with Graham. Glen Rose also picked up a significant win last Thursday, edging Stephenville, 34-33. The Lady Tigers travel to No. 8 Brownwood on Friday.
