Bobcat basketball has essentially wrapped up the District 7-4A championship. No. 7 Krum holds a two-game lead over No. 8 Burkburnett with five games remaining and owns the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs after sweeping the season series.
Thursday, Krum overcame a 49-46 deficit entering the fourth quarter against Burkburnett, outscoring the Bulldogs 23-14 to secure a 69-63 victory on the road along the Red River. The Bobcats dominated Decatur on Friday, 88-38. Krum has now won 12 consecutive games and stands 23-5 overall and 9-0 in district play. The season continues Tuesday at Lake Worth, followed by a Friday matchup at Bridgeport.
The Lady Bobcats had a tough week, dropping games to district rivals. Krum lost 66-58 at Burkburnett and then fell to No. 1 Decatur, 98-33. The Lady Bobcats are 17-15 overall and 6-5 in district play.
On Monday, the University Interscholastic League will release its biannual realignment, revealing which district Krum will compete in over the next two years.
