Winter weather forced Bridgeport to shift its District 7-4A boys and girls basketball games to Friday and Saturday.
The Sissies opened with a 47-29 victory at Springtown on Friday and followed with a narrow 60-58 win over Eagle Mountain at home on Saturday. The victories push Bridgeport to 21-12 overall and 8-3 in district play. With the win, the Sissies have clinched a playoff berth, marking the program’s 13th consecutive season reaching 21 wins. Bridgeport hosts second-place Burkburnett on Tuesday and travels to Lake Worth on Friday.
The Bulls are chasing a playoff spot after going 14-15 overall and 4-5 in district play. They defeated Springtown, 68-49, on Friday but fell to Eagle Mountain, 64-39, on Saturday. The team faces the same schedule as the Sissies this week against Burkburnett and Lake Worth.
District 4-4A soccer begins Tuesday with the boys facing Graham. The Bulls are 9-2 on the season, while the Sissies are 2-6.
On Monday, the University Interscholastic League is scheduled to announce its biannual realignment, revealing Bridgeport’s district placement for the next two seasons.
