Weatherford Sports Update – 2/3/2026

Weatherford athletics knows its new district destination for the next two years. This past Monday, the UIL released its biannual realignment. Of course, Weatherford remaining at the Class 6A level. The Roos are in 3-6A in Region I. That’s an eight-team district made up of Aledo, Arlington, Arlington Sam Houston, Arlington Lamar, Arlington Bowie, Arlington Martin and Granbury. Weatherford’s non-district schedule is Burleson Centennial, Azle and Paschal.

We’ll have more on the details and the non-district schedule for football next week.

Weatherford basketball split its two games last week, picking up a 57-52 road win at Mansfield Legacy on Friday after falling to Crowley, 62-48, earlier in the week. The Roos are now 18-12 overall and 2-6 in District 3-6A play. They have a district bye Tuesday before traveling to No. 2 North Crowley on Friday.

The Lady Roos share the same schedule this week. They earned their first district victory last week with a 56-41 win over Crowley but dropped a 74-47 decision at Legacy. Weatherford enters the week 19-12 overall and 1-9 in district play.

No. 11 Lady Roos soccer continued its strong season, improving to 10-0-1 after a 2-1 win over Mansfield Legacy in its only District 3-6A match last week. Weatherford plays host to North Crowley on Tuesday and travels to Mansfield Lake Ridge on Friday.

The Roos boys soccer team also follows the same schedule this week with matches against North Crowley and Lake Ridge.
