Granbury athletics knows its new district destination for the next two years. This past Monday, the UIL released its biannual realignment. Of course, Granbury moving up from Class 5A Division I to 6A. The Pirates are in 3-6A in Region I. That’s an eight-team district made up of Aledo, Arlington, Arlington Sam Houston, Arlington Lamar, Arlington Bowie, Arlington Martin and Weatherford.
 
Granbury’s non-district schedule is Cleburne, Waco and Irving. More details will be released next week.

Lady Pirate basketball has clinched a playoff berth with three games remaining in the regular season. Granbury is 17-14 overall and 6-3 in District 5-5A and is tracking toward the second Division I playoff seed.

In their lone game last week, the Lady Pirates cruised past Azle, 58-20. Granbury travels to Brewer on Tuesday before hosting district leader Aledo on Friday.

Pirate basketball follows the same schedule this week with games against Brewer and Aledo.

Lady Pirate soccer improved to 9-4 overall and 2-0 in District 5-5A after a pair of decisive wins last week, defeating Keller Fossil Ridge, 4-2, and Saginaw, 8-0. Granbury faces Brewer and Azle this week.

Pirate soccer is 4-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in district play. The Pirates also meet Brewer and Azle this week.
