Mineral Wells athletics will remain at the Class 4A Division II level for the next two years, the University Interscholastic League announced Monday in its biannual realignment. Football and other sports will compete in separate districts.
For football, the Rams join a six-team District 4-4A in Region I, which includes Bridgeport, Brock, Iowa Park, Burkburnett and Graham. Head coach Cody Worrell’s program will line up five non-district games, with full district scheduling already outlined by coaches and administrators.
In all other sports, Mineral Wells remains in a familiar six-team District 6-4A. The Rams and Lady Rams will compete against Brock, Brownwood, Glen Rose, Graham and Stephenville.
The new districts take effect this August with the start of volleyball. Updates on basketball and soccer schedules will be provided next week.
