Aledo athletics will compete in Class 6A for the next two years, the University Interscholastic League announced Monday. All sports will face the same district opponents in District 3-6A.
Bearcat football will compete in an eight-team district including Granbury, Weatherford, and five Arlington schools: Arlington, Bowie, Lamar, Martin, and Sam Houston. Aledo will also play a three-game non-district schedule against North Crowley, Waco Midway, and Euless Trinity.
In basketball, the Lady Cats have captured the District 5-5A championship, while the Bearcats boys team has clinched at least a share of the league title.
