Glen Rose athletics will stay at the Class 4A Division II level for the next two years, the University Interscholastic League announced Monday. Separate districts will apply for football and other sports.
For football, the Tigers will compete in 5-4A in Region II, a five-team district that includes Hillsboro, Kemp, Venus, and Uplift Hampton Prep of Dallas, making its UIL debut. Head coach Cliff Watkins’ team will also play a six-game non-district schedule against Grandview, Gatesville, Godley, China Spring, Waco Robinson, and Midland Greenwood.
In other sports, Glen Rose will remain in District 6-4A with Brock, Brownwood, Mineral Wells, Graham, and Stephenville. Both boys and girls basketball teams have already clinched playoff berths.
