Bridgeport athletics will remain at the Class 4A Division II level for the next two years following the University Interscholastic League’s biannual realignment released Monday. Football and other sports will continue to compete in separate districts.
For football, the Bulls are placed in District 4-4A in Region I. The six-team district includes Brock, Graham, Burkburnett, Iowa Park and Mineral Wells. Head coach Aaron Cupp’s program will play a five-game non-district schedule against Gainesville, Bowie, Whitesboro, Ponder and Henrietta.
For other sports, Bridgeport will compete in District 7-4A in Region I. The seven-team district features Burkburnett, Decatur, Iowa Park, Lake Worth, Castleberry and Springtown, a group with several familiar opponents.
On the court, playoff-bound Sissies basketball is 23-12 and will close the regular season Tuesday against Krum. The Bulls are tied for fourth place with three games remaining as they continue their push for a postseason berth.
