Rams soccer is off to a strong start, riding a 9-2 overall record into its District 4-4A matchup Tuesday against Burkburnett. Mineral Wells opened district play last week with a close 3-2 loss to district favorite and state power Decatur but rebounded in non-district action with a 9-0 victory over Bowie. The Rams travel to Graham Friday for their next contest.
The Lady Rams are 5-6-1 overall and 0-1 in district play. Last week, they split a pair of games, falling 6-0 to Decatur before bouncing back with an 8-0 win over Bowie. They face the same district schedule this week as the boys, taking on Burkburnett and Graham.
On the hardwood, basketball seasons are winding down. The Lady Rams concluded their campaign Tuesday at Graham, finishing 15-18 overall and 1-8 in District 6-4A, with their lone district win coming against Graham. The boys are 12-18 overall and 0-7 in district play as the week began.
