When they needed it most, Krum’s Lady Bobcats delivered.

Krum clinched a playoff berth last Tuesday with a 66-63 overtime win on the road against Bridgeport in its regular-season finale. The victory secured the postseason spot outright and avoided a playoff play-in game.

The win was a key bounce-back for the Lady Bobcats, who were coming off a 58-57 loss to Eagle Mountain. Eagle Mountain was chasing Krum for the final playoff position in District 7-4A, but the Lady Bobcats closed the door with the overtime victory.

Krum finished the regular season 19-16 overall and 8-6 in district play. The Lady Bobcats are the No. 2 Division II seed and will open the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs against Benbrook. That game is set for a 6 p.m. tip Monday at Nolan Catholic High School. With a win, Krum would likely face No. 3 Brock in the area round.

On the boys side, the No. 7 Bobcats wrapped up the District 7-4A title outright with wins last week at Bridgeport and Springtown. Krum is 27-5 overall and a perfect 13-0 in league play, earning the No. 1 Division I playoff seed. The Bobcats close the regular season at home Tuesday against Castleberry.
